Welcome to Mountain Ash Farm
Our small farm, Mountain Ash Farm, is located in Northern Maine between Presque Isle and Fort Fairfield. We are proud to be from Aroostook County, better know in Maine as, “the County”.
We are in the middle of switching our focus. For the past 8 years we have maintained a herd of alpacas, which we sold in the fall of 2008. Although we loved working with alpacas, and made good money at it, it was time to move on. If you are visiting our site for alpaca information I have left our extensive alpaca library up. At this time I am enjoying making to make my own beads and jewelry. I am also working on learning the traditional CP method of making soap.
Our current goal, my daughters and me, is to work on our product line over the next year. We then hope to have our items to sell at the local farmers market. (Hand spun alpaca yarn, hand knit and crocheted items, handmade soaps and body products, as well as handcrafted jewelry. )
Here my two youngest daughters, Emily and Faith, display some of my first homemade soap from last fall. They are also wearing the necklaces and bracelets they made from handcrafted beads.
We have 14 children ranging in age from 30 - 10. Nine of our children were adopted from a number of countries around the world. It makes for a special and beautiful family!
